Mobile Photoblogging from Orange

Date May 17, 2006

I signed up for a new Flikr-type service from my cellular airtime provider, Orange, today. The idea is that you can post photos directly from your mobile phone into an online album via MMS. You can choose whether or not to make that album public, private or open to just a few select individuals.

With the ever-improving quality of camera phones, this is a pretty cool service and although I’ve spotted one bug where uploaded pics are double-posted, I think I would continue to use it after my free trial comes to an end.

I’m not sure whether I’d bother going for the Orange Photography bundle because although it’s not expensive - £4 a month for unlimited uploads into an album with a maximum size of 200mb - the out-of-bundle pricing is reasonable enough for someone like me, who will use it on a casual basis.

If you’re an Orange customer, you can sign-up by clicking this link. You can also find my public album here.

Update: 15th August - I’ve changed the link to my public album so that it point to my Splashblog instead.
